The Talking Cricket is a Fable insect who lives with Pinocchio and Boy Blue in Fabletown in New York City. He debuts in Fables #15 — "Into the Woods: Storybook Love Part Two."

History

The Homelands

Following the transformation of the wooden puppet Pinocchio into a real boy of flesh and blood, he frequently escaped from his father Geppetto to embark on numerous adventures. On one such adventure, he was accompanied by the Talking Cricket.[1]

Fabletown

After starting a new life in Fabletown, the Talking Cricket is seen accompanying Pinocchio, Flycatcher and Boy Blue as they exit Nod's Books while carrying a stack of the most recent comic books. The group makes their way across the street towards The Woodland, while the cricket's friends discuss the latest rumors surrounding Snow White and Bigby's alleged affair.[2]

Later, the cricket appears seated on a tabletop beside Pinocchio inside The Woodland apartment that Boy Blue and and Pinocchio share, as Blue confronts Pinocchio about the toy soldiers in the bedroom.[3]
