Reflections are a Fable multispecies from the Looking Glass World, who are the living mirror images of people from other worlds. They debut in Fables: The Wolf Among Us #22 — "Heart of Glass Part 1."
Description
Reflections[2][3] are beings who inhabit the Looking Glass World as living mirror images of people from the mundane world,[1] and other places.[4] When a person dies, their reflection becomes untethered and goes to a world named the Silvering, which is the Looking Glass World's own looking glass world.[3] Mary's reflection Bloody Mary[1] does not cast a reflection of her own, at least not outside the Silvering;[5] this is likely the case for all reflections.
History
The dying Mary allegedly sacrifices herself so that her reflection might be set free, so instead of going to the Silvering, her untethered reflection lives on in the Looking Glass World as the vengeful Bloody Mary.[1] However, after Bloody Mary is killed by Bigby Wolf,[6] she is sent to the Silvering, like she was supposed to.[7]
Known reflections
- Bloody Mary[1]
- The donkey that passed gold (untethered version)[8]
- Grendel's mother (untethered version)[4]
Original source
The multispecies is based on the titular character's form from the urban legend of Bloody Mary.
