As their name suggests, flying monkeys are monkeys equipped with wings that enable them to fly. They also have blue fur.[3]

History

Bufkin is a flying monkey[1] who serves as Fabletown's librarian.[4]

When Snow White arrives for her biannual inspection at the Farm, two flying monkeys appear alongside other Farm animals in the barn to discuss ways to fight against and reclaim the Homelands from the Adversary.[3]

Upon his return to the Homelands, Bufkin discovers that all the flying monkeys in the Pan Ozian Empire are working in the Nome King's Air Corps. He proceeds to form a resistance movement to overthrow the Nome King.[5] While standing with the others in front of the Deadly Desert[6] in the Land of Ev,[5] a flying monkey from the Air Force swoops down towards them. It is subsequently killed by Bufkin.[7]
