Elsa Fen is a young human woman from an unnamed Fable homeworld, who is first person to enlist the aid of Jack Frost after he embarks on a career as a hero. She first appears in Jack of Fables #38 — "Baby Steps Along the Glory Road: The New Adventures of Jack and Jack, Part 2 of 4."
History
After he made the decision to enter the hero profession, Jack Frost gets his first real assignment helping Elsa Fen go to her father's aid. However, when they get to her father's castle, it's empty. No sooner do they get there are they kidnapped by night walker creatures, and it is revealed that they abducted them to find Jack himself. They need him to help stop a sorcerer who had been controlling them. He agrees on the condition that his partner Macduff will make a peace treaty that would stop the constant fighting between his people and the humans. After a journey with Brak, and a long enduring battle, he defeats the sorcerer, and peace is put in effect. Jack gets quite a surprise when Elsa comes to him and gives him a kiss, his first kiss. Her family begins rejoicing around the two, and Macduff explains that when you "save" the girl, you get the girl; meaning he is now engaged to Elsa. Though Elsa is a good person, Jack doesn't feel ready to marry, so he and Macduff quietly sneak out at night.
